Prayer prompt for Saturday, Dec. 26

Christ will return one day. Like Simeon and Anna (Luke 2), let us wait in eager anticipation for his arrival. Come quickly, Lord Jesus!

Prayer prompt for Friday, Dec. 25

Today, may we be like the shepherds who glorified and praised God for the miracle of Jesus. (Luke 2:20)

Join with the angels in praise & declare: “Glory to God in highest heaven, & peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased.” (Luke 2:14)

Do you expect God to show up in a mighty way in your day-to-day life? Read Luke 2:8-20 for the shepherds’ amazing encounter with angels.

I think God is less concerned about what we have to offer than our willingness to let him use us, regardless – even in a manger. (Luke 2:7)

Sometimes, following God can be inconvenient and even uncomfortable. Follow him, anyway. (Luke 2:1-5)

I love examples in the Bible (like Luke 2:1-2) when God accomplishes his will even through unbelievers who unwittingly fulfilled prophesy.

This week we looked at the town of Bethany. Think about your hometown, and praise God for the mighty work he has accomplished in your city.

Jesus was driven by such a deep and abiding love for us that it brought him to the manger, cross, grave, & back again to Glory! Amen!

Has God ever asked something of you that didn’t seem to make much sense? I encourage you to obey, anyway. He knows what he’s doing.
