If Jesus was introducing you to a friend, how would he describe how the two of you first met?

Prayer prompt for Friday, Feb. 27

Oh, to have been there on that day when Jesus spoke the words recorded in John 15:13-15 and to hear him call me his friend & confidante!

Jesus didn’t just hang out with his disciples; he built community. He invested time & energy into their lives – and by extension, into ours.

A word of caution: the Holy Spirit will never contradict God’s word in scripture. He is the same yesterday, today, & forever (Hebrews 13:8).

Do you only talk to people who make you look & feel good? Jesus reached out to the undesirables with as much (or more) interest as royalty.

So often in the gospels, Jesus was asked to heal someone, but before he restored them physically, he addressed their spiritual ailments.

When we’re sick, we see a doctor. At one time, we’ve all been spiritually ill and in need of healing. Praise God for the gift of his Son!

Pause for a moment and let this thought soak into your spirit: Jesus invites you, personally, to spend eternity with him.

Mercy Me’s song, “I Can Only Imagine” invites us to picture seeing Jesus face-to-face. Would we wet his feet with our tears of gratitude?
